QMUL's Legal Advice Centre is shortlisted for an award at The Times Higher Education Awards

Published:

The Department of Law is delighted to announce that the Legal Advice Centre has been shortlisted at the Times Higher Education Awards in the category of Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community. More specifically the award is for the innovative work the Centre do on their SPITE and SPITE for Schools projects.

The SPITE project provides one to one advice to people who have had intimate images of themselves shared without their consent. The Centre provides advice to people all around the country using virtual clinics as well as those able to travel in for appointments.

SPITE for Schools is a preventative initiative where teams of undergraduate law students attend local secondary schools and run bespoke workshops on the law surrounding the sharing of intimate images. So far the project has educated hundreds of young people in London and will continue to expand in future academic years.
